Continuing Professional Development Opportunities

The School of Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Computer Science is developing a programme of Continuing Education, Professional Development and Knowledge Exchange activities.  These include scheduled courses, bespoke training, and delivery of Official Microsoft Courses.

Programmes currently available, or under development, include the following:

  • Microsoft Office Specialist

    We are offering training and exam packages in:

    • Microsoft Office Word 2010 (Microsoft exam 77-881)
    • Microsoft Office Excel 2010 (Microsoft exam 77-882)
    • Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2010 (Microsoft exam 77-883)
    • Microsoft Office Outlook 2010 (Microsoft exam 77-884)
    • Microsoft Office Access 2010 (Microsoft exam 77-885)
    • Microsoft Office SharePoint 2010 (Microsoft exam 77-886)
    • Microsoft Office Word 2010 Expert (Microsoft exam 77-887)
    • Microsoft Office Excel 2010 Expert (Microsoft exam 77-888)

    Each course includes a skills check to identify your strengths and any areas that need to be worked on, you will have access to on-line learning materials and you will have the opportunity to sit the exam in one of our modern, well provisioned computer suites.

    In addition, you will have access to instructor led tutorial sessions, lasting about 1 hour each, on Wednesdays, within the Department of Computer Science, University of Liverpool.

  • Configuring Windows 7 (three day official Microsoft course: 6292A)

    This is a three-day instructor-led course. The material is official Microsoft curriculum provided by the Department of Computer Science. The course is intended for IT professionals who wish to improve or demonstrate their Windows 7 knowledge base and technical skills.
